School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) was proud to recognize District 2’s 2019 Teacher and Rookie Teacher of the Finalists at the February 21st School Board Meeting.

We honor Ms. Judy Rodriguez (COPE Center North) – Teacher of the Year Runner Up; Mr. Aaron Taylor (Henry E.S. Reeves Elementary) – Finalist; Mr. Ricardo Losada (Lindsey Hopkins Technical College), Rookie Teacher of the Year Runner Up; and all teachers for their passion and commitment to educating our precious children.

Miami Northwestern Senior PAVAC Dance performs at School Board Meeting

Marissa Alexander will serve as Keynote Speaker at 18th Annual No More Broken Hearts event

District 2 Breaking News – School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) is excited to announce the Keynote Speaker for the 18th Annual No More Broken Hearts Domestic Violence Workshop – Ms. Marissa Alexander! Come and hear her emotional story and inspirational message to all domestic abuse survivors.

Our Workshop will take place Saturday, February 24, 2018, 8am – 2pm, at Charles R. Drew K-8 Center, 1801 NW 60th Street, Miami. Free and open to the public. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Zoe’s Dolls spread JOY to girls at Lillie C. Evans K-8 Center

School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) was excited to join Zoe Terry and her organization, Zoe’s Dolls, to distribute dolls to 75 young girls at Lillie C. Evans K-8 Center.

We are so proud of Zoe and her great work. You are an inspiration to so many black and brown girls all across the world. As Zoe tells the girls, “I am Beautiful. I am Powerful. I am Loved.”
