Easter Celebration for Liberty City’s children and families  

District 2 In The Community – School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) is proud to serve as a co-sponsor for the 2017 Easter Basket Giveaway hosted by Omega Power and Praise Ministry at Belafonte TACOLCY Center in Liberty City. Thanks to Pastor Harriette Wilson-Greene and her team for planning this wonderful event for our children and their families. 

Special Thanks to the City of Miami NET Office, Police Department, President T. Willard Fair of the Urban League of Greater Miami, Jessie Trice Community Health Center, and the Home Depot for co-sponsoring and supporting our children. Wishing all of our families a Happy Easter. 

Brownsville Middle Family Fun Fest

District 2 School News – School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) attended the BMS Family Fun Fest held at Brownsville Middle School.  The event included encouraging words from Dr. Bendross-Mindingall, safety presentations from Miami- Dade Police officers, and health tips from John Peavy Community Health Clinic.  Afterwards, the hard working students were treated to a fun-filled day of games, activities, delicious food, and music. Thanks to Principal Ebony Dunn, administration, Children’s Trust CEO James Haj, teachers, staff, and parents for educating our students. 

A Special Thanks to PTA President Ms. Regina Davis for coordinating this event and for your commitment to improving the lives of our children and families. Go Falcons! 

Saluting the Class of 2017 Graduates at D.A. Dorsey Technical College 

District 2 School News – Congratulations to the graduates at D.A. Dorsey Technical College in Liberty City. Thanks to Principal Dr. Angela Thomas-Dupree, administration, teachers, staff, and parents for educating our amazing students.

Honoring Jonathan Spikes Foundation/Affirming YOUth at School Board Meeting 

School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) recognized the Jonathan Spikes Foundation/Affirming YOUth with a proclamation at the April 5th School Board Meeting. 

We salute Mr. Spikes for his service to educating, mentoring, and inspiring our children and families in our community. We look forward to see Mr. Spikes at the Oscars one day soon…
