School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) was excited to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall Parent Resource Center at the We Rise Village Apartments in Liberty City.

Thanks to Urban League of Greater Miami CEO/President T. Willard Fair, staff, and community for their great work.

President Fair and partners have built an affordable housing complex with state of the art amenities for our deserving children and families.

Working together for our students at Miami Edison Senior High School

School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) met with Principal Leon Maycock, administration, coaches, Wayne Barton, Chief Facilities Officer Jaime Torrens, Carl Nicoleau, Leroy Jones, Minister Anthony Durden, John Crawford, and community stakeholders at Miami Edison Senior High School.

Grand Opening Celebration of the Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall Social and Economic Institute

Congratulations to School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) on the Unveiling and Dedication of the new Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall Social and Economic Institute located in Brownsville. The Institute will offer youth educational programs and career training opportunities for our community.

The facility, overseen by Mr. Leroy Jones, will house Neighbors and Neighbors Association, Circle of Brotherhood, the Audrey M. Edmonson Business Incubator, Career Source South Florida, OIC, Inner City Youth Enrichment Camp, Girl Power, NCNW, Zoe’s Dolls, Community Connections for Life, Global STEM Academy, A New Paradigm Educational Center, and a State of the Art Kitchen for FREE Culinary Classes.

M-DCPS Announces Unparalleled Assessment Results

School Board Member Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall (D-2) was proud to stand with fellow Board Members and M-DCPS Administrators to announce the 2017-2018 Assessment results.

On the FSA ELA Assessment, M-DCPS students in all Grades 3 through 10 outscored the state and other large districts. In FSA Math Assessment, all M-DCPS students in Grades 3 through 8 outpaced or matched the state in terms of gains from 2017 to 2018.

The percentage of students passing the Grade 10 FSA ELA graduation test increased, also outpacing the state’s passing rate.

We must never lose sight of our mission, and that is to educate our children. We salute our teachers, support staff, parents and community stakeholders for educating and supporting our incredible students!
